Letter to Birthparents

Dear Friend,

We hope that this letter finds you well. We know that this is a difficult time for you, and we just wanted to let you know that we love you, and are so proud of you to consider this difficult step. We know it is going to be hard to place your baby for adoption, and also making sure that the baby will have a loving mother and father to care for your baby and give them the love and support that a growing child needs. We would love to get to know you, and here is some information about our family.
Our family consists of Chris, Jonette and our cat, Midnight. We will have been married for 6 years in November 2011.  Midnight is 3 years old, and a she is a domestic long hair, with tuxedo coloring.  Here are some specifics about each of us.

Chris
As written by Chris:
I am the youngest of three boys. I am very close to my family. My parents, as well as my two brothers all live near by. Both of my brothers are married to wonderful women. Between my two brothers, I have three nephews and two nieces, ranging in ages from 12 years old to about 1 year old. Spending time with my nieces and nephews is one of my favorite things to do. Some of my other favorite activities include spending time with Jonette, hanging out with friends, playing board games, reading (mainly science fiction and fantasy, but enjoy most things), and cooking. I like to cook most types of food, and love to experiment with different dishes.
I have just recently finished graduate school at the University of Washington. I got my Master’s in Physical Chemistry. I also graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA, getting my Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry. I am a firm believer in the importance of getting an education, regardless of the subject. I have been blessed to have supportive parents and especially my wife, Jonette, throughout my academic career. With a good education, there are more possibilities for a person in their life. I’m excited for the opportunity to be a father, and to love that child, and give them the best opportunities possible.

As written by Jonette:
Chris is a loving husband and caring person. Chris enjoys cooking, biking, camping, reading and being around friends and family. Whenever Chris starts a project, he works very hard to get it done, and done correctly. He also has done very well in school, often excelling in his Chemistry classes. Chris is the ward executive secretary, and loves his calling. Chris is the 3rd of three children in his family, having two older brothers. He is a very kind and loving brother, and he gets along well with them. Also, he loves to pamper me, and treats me with a ton of love and respect. I love all that he does for me. He loves being around our nieces and nephews, and they love being with him, running around, playing video games or Transformers with the nephews. I know Chris is going to be the best dad ever.

As written by Jonette:
Hello my name is Jonette Bingham and I am twenty-nine. I have three younger brothers and no sisters. So I was very happy to get four sister-in-laws, when I married Chris and when two of my brothers got married.  In 2004 I met Chris and then started dating. We then set the date to be married in the fall of 2005. I am a childcare teacher and have been doing it for 9 ½ years. I am a certified infant and toddler teacher and love teaching children how to learn their ABC’s and learning how to do a little sign language as well as having a lot of fun doing art projects and cooking projects with my kids at work. In 2004, I worked at the temple for my mission for about 1 year every Saturday after working Monday – Friday in childcare. My brothers and my mom and dad are very close and love spending time together going camping, cooking meals together and just having a good time. I also have lots of fun getting to spend time with all of our nieces and nephews getting to watch them and play little games and going to the park. I also like to spend time with my mother and father in law watching movies or just visiting. What I like to do on my free time when I am not working is reading, cooking, and making cookies or bread. I love to go for walks and doing my kickboxing work out. I am so thankful to have a great husband and I am so excited to be able to be a mom and be able to experience motherhood and be able to love and teach our child many great things and watch them grow.

Jonette is one of the most caring persons I know. She still amazes me with her ability to love those around her. Jonette also loves to have fun, and is able to find it in everyday things. Jonette is the oldest of four, where she is the only daughter. She remains close to her brothers, as well as her parents. I am very grateful for her relationships that she has with her family. Jonette loves children, and they love her too. Jonette works in childcare, and she absolutely loves spending time with the children, and watching them learn and grow. As a witness to her ability with kids, many of her families from work will ask her to babysit outside of work, as they trust her to watch and care for the kids. They will continue to ask her to babysit, even after the kids leave her class. She takes childcare very seriously, and has worked very hard to be certified, and is currently working on obtaining her Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education.

Jonette also loves to have a good time, whether it is getting out with friends and family, or staying in watching movies. She loves to laugh, and has a special way to make people feel comfortable and loved. I know that Jonette will be a fabulous mother, and that her heart is ready and open to share the love she has with your baby.
We would love to be able to get to know you, and your family. We are open to having an open adoption, as we believe that the more people that love a child will make for better and stronger child. Adoptions are about love, and the more love the better. We would also love to answer any questions that you may have about us, and our family. Please feel free to contact us at chrisjonetteadopt@gmail.com. We love you, and we are here to support you with this big change in your life. Thank you for your time, and have a wonderful day.
Love,
Chris and Jonette
